The Marietta Police Department began the non-profit organization, Marietta Police Athletic League (Marietta PAL) chapter in 2007. The worldwide program designed to utilize sports as a basis for positive interaction between police officers and kids provides a foundation for good decision making. We've consistently grown thanks to the helping hands of our amazing community!
Our amazing team of Marietta PAL full-time and part-time volunteers is committed to helping others. We take our convictions and turn them into action.
The National Association of Police Athletic/Activities Leagues Inc.’s motto is, "It’s better to build youth than mend adults."
An active member of the National PAL, the Marietta PAL's MISSION is to prevent juvenile crime and violence by providing civic, athletic, recreational and educational opportunities which create trust and build understanding between officers and youth.
The 5th Annual Shamrock Shuffle will be a virtual race scheduled to occur from
Saturday, March 6th, 2021 through Saturday, March 13th

There will be a Pot of Gold Celebration to end the race Saturday, March 13th from 4 pm - 6 pm. Awards will be presented to race category winners and for the best costume. Gift bags will be presented to race participants containing the race T-shirt and some great swag. The event will have a festive atmosphere with light entertainment.
Since this is a virtual race, you can pick your favorite area to run for the event. Some common areas: your neighborhood, a running path/trail, or at home on your treadmill---You decide!
Submit run/walk times between March 6th at 6:00 am and March 13th at 12 noon.
The event will have a festive atmosphere with light entertainment. The location for the Pot of Gold Celebration is (code named) “Emerald Isle” and the exact location will only be released in the days prior to the event.
There will be a Pot of Gold Celebration to end the race Saturday, March 13th, 2021 from 4 pm to 6 pm. The Pot of Gold Celebration is a fun opportunity to celebrate the end of the race with family and friends in a safe, socially distanced environment. Awards will be given to category winners and for the best costume.

Due to COVID-19, we encourage all attendees to wear masks in addition to keeping a distance of 6 feet from others at the event.
We invite you to partner with us or join us as a vendor to showcase your business or organization. Funds received will help us reach our fundraising goal of $60,000 to support our non-profit organization, Marietta PAL's Youth Sports and Recreation Programs. Our program serves youth, many of whom could not otherwise afford to participate in such programs.
We are also accepting healthy snack donations as well as gift certificates & prizes for giveaways!
Marietta PAL’s organization consists of youth who reside within the City of Marietta. PAL currently serves nearly 400 youth annually through existing sports, recreation, mentoring, and education programs. Your generous donation will go towards our fundraising goal of $60,000 to support our amazing youth programs. 100% of all proceeds from the Marietta Shamrock Shuffle 5k Road Race will be used to improve the health, education, and cultural enrichment of our kids and reduce the incidents of juvenile crime in the Cobb County area.
